DJDT is a non-profit youth performing company
with an ever-growing audience throughout the Twin Cities.
In recent years, the company has staged the ballets of
Sleeping Beauty and "The Four Seasons."
In 2001 the company was invited to perform as part of
the Minnesota Dance Festival at the prestigious Fitzgerald
Theater in St. Paul, MN. The company returned to
the Festival again in 2004 and 2005. Last fall,
the junior company also had the opportunity to perform
with Deuxmensions Dance Theatre.
Membership
The company is made up of dancers aged 12 - 18. Each
spring dancers are selected by audition, and those chosen
will continue to perform throughout the Twin Cities.
These students have chosen a higher level of commitment
to their dance experience. In addition to maintaining
attendance in at least 3 technique classes per week, members
also rehearse during summer vacation and an additional 2
hours a week during the school year. Members must
also pay dues and participate in fundraising activities.
