One of the many ways Deuxmensions Dance works to keep your tuition
costs down is by not employing a custodial or cleaning staff – we
do it ourselves, both the easy and the not-so-pretty tasks. We
do our best to promote our business as a clean, tidy environment
to our clients, and care about the image we present throughout
the building. In the past, we have been very generous in allowing
any type of food or beverage in our Green Room/lobby area. However,
after having to clean up too many coffee, soda, hot chocolate
and juice spills, we have now come to the decision to limit beverages
to WATER ONLY.
In the past few months, we have encountered a number of stains and unreported
spills on our new Green Room carpeting. Unsightly carpet stains and the smell
of old coffee and rotting milk do not fit the image we are trying to present.
Coffee stains do not come out of the carpet, even with steam cleaning. We could
hire a professional cleaning service each time this happens, which now amounts
to a couple of times per week, but that would force us to raise your tuition
in order to pay for this service. Therefore, the best solution in which everyone
wins is to no longer allow these beverages in our building. Our business is our
livelihood, our home away from home. Imagine, for a moment, people coming into
your business or home, spilling entire cups of coffee, and not telling anyone.
With this in mind, we hope you understand why we have come to this decision.
We thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Deuxmensions Dance Theatre & School

Tardiness
Because the barre and warm-up exercises are the
most important part of any dance class, students arriving more
than 15 minutes late will not be allowed to dance, and will instead
be an observer for that day. This rule was made with the
dancer's health in mind - muscles that are not properly warmed
up are much more susceptible to injury,
Parents
NO VISITORS ALLOWED in the
classrooms except by special arrangement. If you choose
to stay in the Green Room, please be respectful of the faculty
and the students by keeping noise to a minimum. If young
siblings must be brought along, please see that they are accompanied
by an adult at all times.
Visiting Days are held during
the last class of each nine week quarter. This enables parents
and other visitors to observe what the dancers have been learning.
PLEASE do not allow children
to run in the halls, it is disruptive not only to our dance classes,
but to our neighbors doing yoga as well.
PLEASE do not allow children
to play in the dressing room. It is meant for changing only.
SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED anywhere
on dance school grounds.
BulletinBoards
Please check these often! Located in the
green room, these boards are updated frequently with announcements
important to you and your dancer.
Mail Slots
Also located in the Green Room, these hanging files
contain important notes for you. Notes for your child will
be filed under the first initial of their last name. Please
check these files monthly.
Missed Classes &
Make Up Classes
All lessons must be paid for whether the student
is present or not. If a student must miss a class, make
up classes are available and should be taken as close to the missed
class as possible. Please check with your dancer's teacher
for appropriate make-up classes. Any canceled classes should
be made up in the same manner.
Dancers participating in a make-up class must be a registered
student of DDTS.
Snow Days
We will follow the same procedure as the Edina &
Minneapolis school districts. If the public schools call a snow
day, there will not be any dance classes held at the dance school.
When in doubt, you can call our main line, tune to KARE 11 TV
or www.kare11.com. Final decisions will be made by 2:00pm on weekdays, and 8:00am on weekends.
