SCHOOL PERFORMANCES

WINTER SHOWCASE - January

Junior Division Tap/Ballet K-C, Beginning Modern/Contemporary, Hip Hop and Jazz classes, plus Deuxmensions Youth Performance Company

This informal event is held at the dance school and dancers wear regular class attire. It is an opportunity to prepare our youngest dancers for the mainstage performance in June.  It is designed to help them get comfortable in front of an audience and gives them a sneak peak at what lies ahead.

JDRF BENEFIT PERFORMANCE - February

Started in 2013 as a fundraiser for Artistic Director Michelle Doyle's son's JDRF One Walk team, this annual performance donates 100% of ticket sales to  the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund benefiting  Type 1 Diabetes research.  Dancers and classes are selected by invitation with many of the performers having a personal connection with Type 1 Diabetes.

MAINSTAGE PERFORMANCE - June

All classes, junior and senior division

In keeping with our dedication to dance as an art form, we present a full-length ballet as part of our end-of-year performance.  Students have the opportunity to audition for lead roles, and each ballet class plays a supporting role.

This gives students a chance to be a part of something larger, adds continuity to the performance, and allows parents and students a look at the progression of our dance program.

Our ballet repertoire includes story ballets such as Thumbelina, Cinderella, Snow White, The Fairy Flower, The Seal Maiden, The Seasons, and Carnival of the Animals.  Abstract ballets performed by our students include Les Sylphides, Etudes, Nocturne, Jewels, Seasons in Motion, Reflections, Intermezzo and Brahms Dances.

Since dance is a performing art, we strongly encourage, although do not require, participation in this special event.
